One of my favorite things about living in the middle of nowhere is discovering what the sky truly looks like without light pollution. I still remember my first night at the cabin vividly. I stepped outside to brush my teeth, the freezing air filling my lungs, and I looked up—and in that instant, it felt like I had stumbled into another world entirely.

There were stars everywhere, more than I had ever thought possible. And then, as if that wasn’t enough, the sky came alive—swirls of green and purple light danced across the sky. I was so mesmerized, I dropped my toothbrush on the frozen ground and didn’t even notice until much later. That night, I just stood there and stared. I realized that this place had gifted me a new perspective. The sky here isn’t just a backdrop—it’s alive, vast, and humbling. Even to this day, every time I look up at the night sky, I’m reminded exactly why I chose this life.
